App license: Your use of Avo is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Standard EULA”), which is incorporated into these terms. If these terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, accessing, or using Avo, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Standard EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the app or purchase a subscription.
Avo is the public name of the Avocado application and related service provided by Dariusz Niklewicz.
2. Nutrition and health information
Avo helps you record meals, products, recipes, measurements, activity context, calorie targets, and macronutrients. Calculations and summaries depend on the information you provide, available Apple Health data, food data, and estimation methods.
Avo is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Nutrition targets, activity context, and other information are provided for general informational purposes. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions or significant changes to your diet or activity.
3. AI-assisted features
Avo AI may analyze text, barcodes, nutrition labels, meal photos, files, and recipe sources to suggest foods, portions, nutrition values, ingredients, steps, tips, cooking factors, and meal highlights. AI results can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your circumstances.
You are responsible for reviewing AI results before saving or relying on them. Do not use an AI result as medical advice, and do not submit information you do not want processed for the requested task.
4. Your content and Circles
You retain responsibility for the information, photos, recipes, and other content you enter or import. You must have the right to use that content and must not use Avo to violate another person’s rights or applicable law.
When you share a Circle, invited members can access the Circle data made available through Apple iCloud sharing, including its meals, products, recipes, meal types, members, and related content. Only invite people you trust, and do not place information in a shared Circle that you do not want its members to see.
5. Avo Plus subscriptions
Avo may offer auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions. Avo Plus provides Circle sharing. Avo AI Plus includes Avo Plus and AI-assisted features. The exact price, currency, billing period, introductory-offer availability, and included features are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through Apple.
- Deleting Avo or your Avo AI account does not cancel a subscription.
- Family Sharing availability depends on the subscription product, Apple’s rules, and your Apple Account configuration.
- Usage of AI features may be subject to reasonable limits disclosed in the app to protect service availability and prevent misuse.
Apple handles billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds under App Store rules. Manage or cancel a subscription through iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions or your App Store account. Apple provides current instructions on its subscription support page.
6. Purchase restoration and accounts
You can restore eligible purchases from Avo’s plan screen while signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Restoration does not create a new charge.
An Avo account using Sign in with Apple is required for AI features. Deleting that backend account does not delete local or iCloud nutrition data, cancel Apple billing, or automatically revoke the Sign in with Apple authorization. The app and the support guide describe the separate controls.
7. External services and availability
Avo relies on Apple services, Amazon Web Services, OpenAI, Open Food Facts, and other platform or network capabilities described in the Privacy Policy. External services may be unavailable, delayed, changed, or discontinued. Barcode matches, imported information, and AI features can vary by product, source, region, language, and service status.
Avo may add, change, limit, or discontinue features to improve the app, maintain security or service quality, respond to platform changes, or comply with law. The app and website are provided subject to the warranties, limitations, and remedies in the Standard EULA and applicable law.
8. Acceptable use
You may not misuse Avo or its services, interfere with their operation, attempt unauthorized access, bypass purchase or usage controls, submit unlawful or harmful material, reverse engineer the app except where law expressly permits it, or use Avo in violation of law or another person’s rights.
9. Privacy
The Avo Privacy Policy explains how local and iCloud app data, Apple Health information, account and subscription records, AI requests, operational metadata, and deletion are handled.
10. Intellectual property
Avo and its original software, design, branding, and website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. The license granted through the App Store does not transfer ownership.
Apple, iPhone, App Store, Apple Health, iCloud, OpenAI, Open Food Facts, and other names and marks belong to their respective owners. Avo is an independent application and is not sponsored or endorsed by those providers.
